This is the website of Andy Carter a Textpattern and Drupal web developer living in the Steel city.

About me

Andy Carter

Hi, my name is Andy Carter and I am a web developer and once theoretical Physicist living in Sheffield, the "Steel city", in the North-East of England.

I currently work primarily as a Drupal developer, although there's plenty of other things I get involved with at work.  For many years I've been developing with Textpattern and continue to try and remain active in its friendly community, you'll find my contributions to Textpattern in the Textpattern section of this site.

Away from web development I am a bit of a cinephile — I love of cinema, particularly indie, animated and European films.  I blog about it here.

About this site

This is my personal website: a place for me to share my ideas and discoveries on web development, my Textpattern plugins, and my love of cinema.

For those wondering about the site's name, well it's a bit random really; it has nothing to do with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers (as some have thought - it never crossed my mind when choosing the name), but is instead a reference to my love of hot and spicy foods.

The site has been built using the excellent Textpattern with a number of plugins to enhance the core CMS. The plugins in use include: adi_wrap, bot_file_upload, bot_image_upload, hak_tinymce, glz_custom_fields, rss_auto_excerpt, arc_comments_filter, arc_twitter (aka TXP Tweet), and arc_youtube.

I'm a keen advocate of good web standards and accessibility, so this site has been designed and developed with those in mind. All pages have been checked using the W3C validator tools and comply with W3C standards as far as possible.
